I had all sorts of amazing an profane things to write, but nothing sticks out more to me about how Texas, and America, is screwing the public school system, especially in communities of color than this line: “It was a “conversation” in which a middle-aged white man having a “conversation” in a room filled with middle-aged white men and women, talking about “people in the inner city.”
Until we can change the narrative- the narrators, the the story, the pathways through which the oppression continues- nothing can change.
