Testing’s “Next Generation”

Study hard what interests you the most in the most undisciplined, irreverent and original manner possible.” -Richard Feynman

A recent report out of Massachusetts has a New Hampshire-based company coming up with the “Next Generation MCAS”. Is this like New Coke? It’s a $150 million dollar waste, that’s for sure. And “next generation” makes me feel like there’s an admission the last test wasn’t good enough (shock) and that we’re on a journey to find new ways to screw children (bigger shock).

You can read about the company, Measured Progress (the name alone makes me want to vomit) here and here. I imagine the people of Massachusetts will end up with a larger price tag than is being sold to them. Wonder if that price tag includes Vasoline….
